Ron and Maryanne Peterson have been in portrait photography since they met in 1974 and founded Peterson Studio in Wilcox, PA.  Their studio is a full service portrait and wedding photography provider operating in a 20,000 square foot building which was formally a general store for the small community.  The studio, one of the largest in the state, provides a large variety of background sets.

    Specialties include family, children, high school senior, and pet portraits both in studio and outdoors as well as engagement, pre-bridal, and wedding photography services.

    Our goal is to create unique portraits which capture the personality and inner beauty of each subject.

Ronald P. Peterson

Master of Photography • Craftsman Photographer

    Ron is a 1969 graduate of Kane Area High School.  He served three years with the United States Army as a medical equipment repairman, with one year in Vietnam, where his interest and love of photography developed. 

    The photography community has an extensive network of organizations providing photographers with training seminars, peer support, and creative new ideas.  Very active in these associations, Ron has held many leadership positions.  As a member of the Professional Photographers Association of Pennsylvania he served as president in 1994, he is also a past president of SNAPP (Southwestern New York  Association of Professional Photographers).  Ron was a National Councilor to the Professional Photographers Association of America for eight years and was awarded  the most coveted PPA National Award from the Professional Photographers of America.

In 1997 he received the PPA's Craftsman Degree in recognition of service to the photographic community through lecturing and mentoring fellow photographers at various seminars in Ohio. Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia, and Connecticut.

Many of Ron's prints have  received PPA's merit awards culminating in his receiving the prestigious Master of Photography Degree in the year 2000, including a 'Loan Collection' Print, one of the highest awards a photographic entry can receive.  Mr. Peterson is the first photographer in Elk County to attain the Masters Degree and the Certified Professional Photographer under PPA's certification program.

    Ron is also active in local community service.  He currently serves on the boards of the Wilcox Area Development Corporation, the Kane Country Club, the Wilcox Cemetery Association, and Elk County Crime Stoppers and is a past president of the Wilcox Little League.   

Maryanne Peterson

Craftsman Photographer

    A 1973 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School, Maryanne has been working in photography since 1974.  She is active in many professional photographic associations, including PPA of PA and SNAPP (Southwestern New York  Association of Professional Photographers).  Maryanne has constantly strived to develop her photographic and business skills to provide the highest quality portraiture for her clients.  Her own photography has been acknowledged with numerous awards including the prestigious Pennsylvania Schreiver Award. Maryanne was awarded the most coveted PPA National Award from the Professional Photographers of America.
